I recently called my doctor at this factility because I am traveling abroad soon and need vaccines. It took me over a week to get a response, and that was after following through multiple times. Finally, a receptionist told me that I could get all the vaccines I need at walgreens. I called every walgreens in the area and none have the vaccines I need. The UMC receptionist also told me that I don't need malaria medications, but upon doing more research I discovered that the area where I'm going in subsaharan Africa is actually huge risk for malaria. It is now just a few days before I'm supposed to leave and I still can't reach the doctor to get a malaria medication prescription or vaccines. If i die of yellow fever while abroad, i hereby authorize whoever reads this to sue UMC and the state of Alabama's healthcare system.

I have been calling 2 weeks straight for a blue card. I have left message after message and haven't talked to one single person yet.

Nurses in the baby delivery area WP1. Day shift was very rude and nasty. Close the door in our face instead of asking us to wait a while longer. Baby born at 11:45 am, she would not let us see the baby until after one. It is a right way to do things and a right way to treat people especially when u work in the public. I think she needs to find another job, where she only deals with herself and no one else. If i was the person I was now before I got saved she would have been picking herself up off the floor. This is what happens at small Hospital. Where they don't see that many people, especially black people. This world was made for all of us, not just the white, pink or flesh color complex. Im from Birmingham and have been working in the public for over 35yrs.

Terrible. Even if you have an appointment you wait forever. Rude staff. None of the doctors know what they're doing. Called for bluecard for over 2 months and never got a returned call. Lazy lazy lazy front desk staff. Don't waste your time
